Dulci-More to perform in Salem
SALEM — Dulci-More, an orchestra of folk and traditional musicians, will give its 16th anniversary concert at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church, 244 S. Broadway. Admission is free.
Come Take a Trip in My Airship will be the theme as Dulci-More performs songs that give the impression of flying over farms, fields of flowers and railroads, swooping over mountains and down into valleys. Lyrics will be provided to encourage audience participation. Dulci-More members play mountain dulcimers, hammered dulcimers, guitars, autoharps, ukuleles, mandolins, banjos, fiddles, cello, bass, harmonicas, recorders, flutes, jug and more. About 20 members are planning to perform.
The concert will also feature some members of Dulci-More Little Eagles, the current group of about eight United Local Elementary students who have been playing mountain dulcimers in an after-school program led by Dulci-More.
