Cancer survivor pin

Cancer survivor pin

Co-founders of SirViBear, Bill and Linda English of Austintown, said they were inspired to design the cancer survivors’ pin after winning their own battles with cancer. SirViBear is supposed to allow survivors “to encourage each other with a word of congratulations, a smile, or even a simple nod.”

Behind the SirViBear:

Sir: SirViBear wears a fedora hat that men wore in the early- to mid-20th century. Dubbing him “Sir” gives him an air of respectability.

Vi: It means, “the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe,” in Latin.

Bear: English remembers, from his childhood, how bears were depicted in movies and Saturday morning cartoons: as friendly, social and very caring of their families.

The color purple has been proved to be uplifting, to calm the mind and nerves, and to offer a sense of spirituality and encourage creativity.
