Jan. 28
Arrests: A woman, 23, and a 24-year-old man, both of New Castle, Pa., were arrested after being pulled over near U.S. Route 224 and Quarry Road. The man faced a felony charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle after being accused of taking a vehicle belonging to a Pittsburgh business; the woman was charged with a misdemeanor count of possession of drugs when, police said, two bags of suspected marijuana were found.

Theft/robbery: Police responded to a theft at Giant Eagle, 3130 Center Road, then arrested a Kinsman woman, 24, and a Niles man, 26, during a traffic stop. Both were charged with attempted theft, possession of drug-abuse instruments and criminal tools after officers said they found syringes, one with suspected heroin, and other suspected drug paraphernalia. The woman and man also were wanted on warrants from Warren charging them with robbery and complicity to robbery, respectively.

Fraud: A Ewing Road woman noticed two fraudulent charges to her bank account totaling $1,050.
Theft: A furnace and an air-conditioning unit were removed from a residence in the 7700 block of West Parkside Drive.
Robbery: Police, along with the U.S. Marshals Task Force, took into custody a 23-year-old Youngstown man wanted on a warrant from Boardman charging him with robbery.
Bad check: A Boardman woman, 36, was taken into custody near state Route 164 in Columbiana County. She was wanted on a warrant from the township charging her with passing a bad check.
Arrests: Two Youngstown men, 53 and 54, were arrested after police stopped them on South Avenue, and charged with receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia. The vehicle and its license plates had been stolen in Columbus, and a suspected crack pipe was found, a report said.
Stolen property: Authorities booked a Youngstown man, 19, at the Mahoning County Jail on charges of receiving stolen property and misuse of a credit card. Last month, another man reported his credit card had been stolen and used at a Market Street salon.
Domestic violence: Authorities and U.S. marshals picked up a 25-year-old Boardman man at his residence on a felony charge after a woman had alleged the man choked her twice, then placed a couch in front of her door to prevent her from leaving during an argument about their child.
Theft: A Rogers man, 46, was charged, accused of taking an MP3 player into a restroom at Best Buy, 561 Boardman-Poland Road, and using a razor blade to try to remove the item from its packaging.
Domestic violence: A 20-year-old man at the Mahoning County Jail was booked on a warrant from the township charging him.

Fraud: A New Middletown man found out someone used his stolen credit card to make $564 worth of charges at a Doral Drive store.
Counterfeit: An official with Boardman Glenwood Middle School, 7635 Glenwood Ave., turned over what he thought was a phony $100 bill from a student.
Aggravated menacing: A worker for a Market Street business reported an angry patient made a phone call threatening to blow up an office.
Fraud: A Jaguar Drive woman discovered numerous fraudulent international purchases had been made online, depleting her checking account.
Theft: A Niles woman, 28, faced a felony charge after being accused of stealing $746 worth of clothing from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall.
Theft: A Youngstown woman, 40, was charged, accused in the theft of 15 lingerie items from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Theft: Two boys, 14 and 17, and a 37-year-old woman, all of Youngstown, were charged after 12 pieces of merchandise were taken from Wal-Mart. The woman also faced two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, accused of having her sons participate in the crime.
Theft: An employee with a South Avenue business reported a trailer stolen while at work.
Criminal damaging/menacing: A Boardman-Canfield Road woman reported a man kicked and dented her vehicle’s driver’s-side door after threatening her with bodily harm.

Theft: A woman’s wallet and three debit cards were stolen while she was at the Southern Park Mall.
Theft: A township woman reported the theft of a $2,100 engagement ring from a jacket pocket while at a McClurg Road business.
Misuse of a credit card: A Tippecanoe Road man found $250 worth of unauthorized debits had been made to his checking account.
Domestic violence: A Boardman man, 21, was picked up at the Lucas County Jail near Toledo on a felony charge. Earlier, a Clifton Drive woman alleged her former boyfriend grabbed, pushed and slapped her during an argument.
Theft: A 26-year-old Youngstown woman was accused in the theft of $41.64 worth of compact discs from Wal-Mart, and charged.
Feb. 1
Arrest: A Youngstown man, 51, was arrested in the 700 block of Boardman-Canfield Road on a probation-violation charge.
Theft: A man reported a Sony PlayStation2 game system and related items stolen from a home in the 400 block of Flagler Lane.
Theft: A 31-year-old Toronto, Ohio, woman was taken into custody, accused of failing to appear in court on a felony warrant, after having been pulled over near South Avenue.
Theft: A Negley man reported the theft of two certificates, a duffel bag, a football jersey and another item from his car while at a Boardman-Poland Road business.
Theft: Twenty-two articles of clothing were stolen from the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall, resulting in charges of theft and possession of criminal tools against two Youngstown girls, 15 and 17.
Theft: A township man returned to his vehicle at the Southern Park Mall and discovered a pair of sunglasses, a radar detector and a global positioning system device missing.
Criminal mischief: A mailbox sustained $30 worth of damage in the 800 block of Beech Avenue.
Recovered property: The Youngstown Police Department’s bomb squad destroyed a suspected military explosive device that a worker for a Market Street business reported having found at a North Lima residence during an estate sale.
