Streaking Campbell rolls past Champion
CHAMPION — Nate Hodge scored 18 points and Jerah’me Williams added 17 to lead the Campbell High boys basketball team to its eighth straight victory, 68-50 over Champion on Tuesday.
Lester Hughes had 14 points for the Red Devils (10-3, 5-0 All-American Conference Blue Tier), who pulled away from a 20-20 tie after one quarter.
David Barnes had 11 points and Tyler Day 10 for Champion (5-9, 2-3).
Newton Falls 66, Brookfield 25
BROOKFIELD — Marcus Fowler scored 24 points and Todd Medallis added 16 to lead a balanced scoring effort for the Tigers (12-2, 4-1 AAC Blue), who took a 12-2 lead after one quarter.
Cameron Derr scored seven points to lead Brookfield (3-11, 1-4).
Niles 71, Beaver Local 66
NILES — The Red Dragons (5-10, 1-3) took a 57-43 lead into the fourth quarter and held on for the victory in a Red Tier game.
David Allen, Nick Young and Bobby Marino scored 18, 17 and 12 points respedtively for Niles.
Shawn Mercer scored a game-high 26 points for the Beavers (0-15, 0-3).
