Summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:
CANFIELD
Jan. 24
Dug abuse: Police arrested a 25-year-old Boardman man for possession of marijuana after they found a small, plastic bag containing suspected marijuana at Fairview Avenue at Indian Lake. The man attempted to flee police in his vehicle, which was caught speeding on West Main Street but was eventually apprehended.
Jan. 26
Telephone harassment: Police investigated a charge of telephone harassment at a home in the 100 block of Topaz Circle.
AUSTINTOWN
Jan. 26
Theft: Tools were taken from a truck at Westgate Ford, 3680 LeHarps Road.
Aggravated burglary: Several items, including a 9mm handgun, a Remington 1100 shotgun and a Winchester pump 12-gauge shotgun, were stolen from a home in the 6000 block of Fairview Road.
Misuse of credit card: Unauthorized charges were made to a stolen credit card at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave., and the Wal-Mart store in Boardman.
Theft: A map book and speakers were stolen from an auto at Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Niles-Canfield Road.
Aggravated menacing: Death threats were made to an apartment in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.
Theft: Food was not paid for at BW-3, 6000 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: Beer was stolen from McQuaids, 702 N. Meridian Road.
Jan. 27
Identity theft: A total of $16,819.55 was charged on a credit card opened in the victim’s name dating back to 2000 at a home in the 2000 block of South Meridian Road.
Criminal damaging: A vehicle window was damaged at Austintown Ambulatory Center, 45 N. Canfield-Niles Road.
Breaking and entering: Nothing was taken at a break-in at Beacon Broadcasting, 5370 Webb Road.
Criminal damaging: A vehicle window was damaged at a home in the 200 block of North Beverly Avenue.
Jan. 28
Theft: Numerous electronic items were stolen at Wal-Mart.
Criminal damaging: Two tires were slashed at a home in the 5000 block of Norquest Boulevard.
Theft: A wallet was stolen from a purse at BW-3, 6000 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: A child support debit card and a Social Security card were taken at a home in the 90 block of Westminster Avenue.

Theft: A woman reported $265 taken from her purse in the township.
Theft: A woman reported her Verizon Blackberry cell phone stolen at Rumors Lounge, 104 N. Meridian Road, or Noday’s Lounge, 3713 Oakwood Avenue.
Lost or stolen: A license plate was lost or stolen on Mahoning Avenue near Meander Lake.
Theft: A male and a female were arrested for stealing two televisions at Wal-Mart.
Theft: Three televisions were stolen at Wal-Mart.
Attempted burglary: An unidentified man in a white Ford truck attempted to gain entry to a residence in the 4000 block of Burkey Road.
Telephone harassment: A male suspect is accused of harassment at a home in the 3000 block of Artmar Drive.
Identity theft: A woman from the 400 block of South Raccoon Road reported that two unauthorized charges totaling $240 to pay for satellite television and cable service she does not have were made to her bank account.
Criminal damaging: A vehicle window was shattered at Crum Road and Poplar Avenue by a man in a truck who chased two occupants of the vehicle.
Auto theft: A 2006 Kia Optima was stolen at Wedgewood Lanes, 1741 S. Raccoon Road.
Theft: Police arrested a man for stealing shrimp at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.
Jan. 30
Theft: A Sony PlayStation2 system was stolen at Game Stop, 5515 Mahoning Ave.
Criminal damaging: A window and sign were damaged at PC Doctor, 3710 Mahoning Ave.
Counterfeit money: A counterfeit $10 bill was passed at 717 Credit Union, 6460 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: A subject didn’t pay his bill at BW-3, 6000 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: A man and a woman took 16 Blu-Ray DVDs from Hollywood Video, 5225 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A cell phone and two men’s coats were stolen from a home in the 600 block of Notre Dame Avenue.
Theft: A fraudulent account was opened in a victim’s name. The victim lives in the 500 block of South Raccoon Road.
Assault: A woman was a victim of assault at Westgate Boulevard and Compass West.
Vehicle theft: A Polaris all-terrain vehicle was stolen from a rear barn at a home in the 6000 block of Kirk Road.
Theft: An Ohio license plate was stolen from an auto at Denny’s Restaurant, 4927 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: Police arrested a man for taking items from Giant Eagle.
Feb. 1
Drug offense: Police arrested a Niles man for possession of drug paraphernalia, a pipe with suspected marijuana residue, in the 1000 block of N. Canfield-Niles Road.
Criminal damaging: A window was broken at a home in the 3000 block of Cumberland Avenue.
Theft: A woman accused of theft fled and the merchandise was recovered at Wal-Mart.
Assault: A man said he was punched in the face at BW-3.
