Ohio St. OL Boone arrested in California

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. — Ohio State offensive lineman Alex Boone was arrested after being subdued with a Taser during an alleged drunken tirade, authorities said Monday.

Boone, 21, was taken into custody late Sunday for investigation of resisting arrest after Orange County sheriff’s deputies responded to a disturbance call outside of a home in Aliso Viejo.

When they arrived, the 6-foot-8, 312-pound tackle had been jumping on car hoods, yanking on a tow truck cable and trying to break a window, said sheriff’s spokesman Jim Amormino.

Soccer stadium collapses in Paraguay

ASUNCION, Paraguay — Part of a stadium has collapsed in Paraguay’s capital during an amateur soccer game, killing two police officers and injuring seven others.

The Paraguayan Football Association says the Defensores del Chaco Stadium will be closed pending investigation into Sunday night’s collapse and repair of the damage. That will force a shift in venue for a Copa Libertadores game between Paraguay’s Nacional and Ecuador’s El Nacional on Thursday.

Officials say a concrete section of stands fell about 40 feet, killing the police officers and forcing a 40-minute delay in the game.
