Hundreds line up at Denny’s for free Grand Slam breakfast

BOARDMAN — Vindicator staff writer Katie Seminara is dedicating a portion of her work day as a temporary employee at the Denny’s restaurant on U.S. Route 224 in Boardman. Here is her first report.

“Definitely more than 230 people thus far have appeared at the restaurant, and they began lining up shortly after 6 a.m. The line extends out the door as hungry folks take advantage of the chain’s free Grand Slam breakfast promotion from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.

"Servers are good; and I brought food to people, served coffee and answered the phone.

"There was one report of an assault in the parking lot, but the person declined medical attention and went in to get the free breakfast.”
