Car hit by gunfire on Market Street

YOUNGSTOWN — A man and woman in their 50s traveling south on Market Street just before 8 p.m. Sunday ducked when they heard gunfire as they pulled into a parking space at a convenience store in the 1500 block. They then realized their car had been hit, police said. No injuries were reported but the woman said she had a ringing in her ears from the gunfire. Bullets struck the rear driver’s side, the trunk and the rear window. The victims said they have no enemies and don’t know why anyone would shoot at them.
