Nolfi anniversary is celebrated at family gathering

LOWELLVILLE — The 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Fred R. Nolfi, 1785 S. Hubbard Road, was celebrated during a family gathering on Nov. 29 at their home.

The family includes David and Cindy Nolfi of New Middletown, Fred III and Holly Nolfi of Lowellville, Janet Benzenhoefer of Struthers, and 17 grandchildren.

The former Rosalie A. Traino and Mr. Nolfi were united in marriage Nov. 29, 1958, at St. Anthony Church in Youngstown. They were the last couple to be married at the church before it closed. They are members of Holy Rosary Church.

Following graduation from high school, Mrs. Nolfi was employed by Youngstown Board of Education as a school secretary. After her children were raised, she returned to work with the Sears Accounting Center and Michael’s Craft Store, until retiring in 1995.

Mr. Nolfi, a longtime member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 396, worked for the Conti Corporation and State Line Plumbing before retiring.
