Card shower is planned for Horst 50th

NORTH LIMA – Mr. and Mrs. Charles Horst, 12050 Blosser Road, will be observing the 50th anniversary of their wedding on Feb. 14. Family members are asking friends to participate in a card shower to mark the occasion.

Mr. Horst and the former Carol Jean Beck were united in marriage on Feb. 14, 1959, at Woodland Lutheran Church in Youngstown.

The family includes Tracey and Gene Byler of Canfield and Paul Horst of Haw River, N.C., and five grandchildren. A son, Dane Horst, is deceased.

Mrs. Horst was employed in the proof department at Dollar Bank in Youngstown and retired in 1959 to raise her children. She is a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church, the Hannah Circle and the YMCA.

Mr. Horst served with the U.S. Army in North Korea and retired in 1995 from National Refractory in Columbiana, where he was an electrician in maintenance.
