EAST PALESTINE — Megan Duncan, a daughter of Mark and Heather Duncan, 215 E. North Ave., and Ryan Maxwell, a son of Neil and Joann Maxwell, 12625 New Buffalo Road, North Lima, were united in marriage at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 1 at First Church of Christ. Justin Hill officiated at the wedding.

The couple were honored during a reception at Mr. Anthony’s before leaving on a wedding cruise to the western Caribbean.

They live near Akron.

The bride’s strapless white gown featured an embellished dropped waist.

Eggplant-colored gowns were worn by the bride’s mother and honor attendant; Lisa Bryan, the maid of honor; and the bridesmaids, Sarah Maxwell, the groom’s sister; Susan Pilarski; and Carrie and Sarah Duncan, cousins of the bride. Flower girl was Sydney Young, the groom’s cousin.

Dan McCooey served as the best man, and groomsmen were David Maxwell, the groom’s brother; Alex Duncan, a brother of the bride; Steve Safran; and Joe Rettig. Ring bearer was the bride’s cousin, Kobe Hill.

The bride, an occupational therapist at Akron Children’s Hospital, graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a master’s degree in occupation therapy.

The groom is pursuing a doctor of pharmacy degree at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Pharmacy.
