Bishop Murry will bless

The center complements the contemporary architecture of the church.

POLAND — Holy Family Church, 2729 Center Road, will dedicate its new parish center and host an open house Sunday.

Bishop George V. Murry will officiate at a Mass at 12:30 p.m., and a dedication and blessing of the facilities will follow.

The movement to build a parish center began in 2004 when a needs assessment survey determined that the growing school and parish was in need of more meeting and social space to host various school and parish gatherings. The parish center will provide a venue for these events. It also will be available for rentals to area businesses and the community.

Holy Family Future Facilities Committee worked with Strollo & Associates, B & B Contractors on the project. The goal was to maintain the beauty and contemporary design of the present church, which was built and dedicated in 1997. The parish of Holy Family was established in 1956 and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 1996.

Monsignor William J. Connell, pastor, selected Sunday as an appropriate opening day because the church will celebrate the Feast of the Holy Family then. After the Mass and dedication, the center will be open for tours and socializing. Call the parish office at (330) 757-1545 for more information.
