The Austintown Middle School’s eighth grade boys blue team beat Youngstown Northeast 40-36 Dec. 17. Austintown’s win was keyed by a 22-for-43 effort from the foul line. The team’s next game is Jan. 4 at Howland.

Bowling team outrolls Perry

Austintown Fitch girls varsity bowling team remained unbeaten by defeating Massillon Perry 2594 to 2341. Vickie Berquist led the way with a 210-213-423 set. Marietta Gallo added a 196 and Gina Cheff a 193. Fitch is 3-0 in Federal League play. Fitch girls and boys varsity teams also won the preseason Tourney at McKinley Lanes. The girls defeated Hubbard in a close match and the boys outlasted Hickory (Pa).
