Youngstown Fire Department comes to rescue of Angels

Youngstown Fire Department comes to rescue of Angels

EDITOR:

The Angels of Easter Seals wants to thank the Youngstown Fire Department for bringing Santa Claus to the children’s party at the Easter Seals Center on Dec. 16. The YPD and Chief John O’Neill have done this for the Easter Seals Center for the last 10 years. You can’t believe the joy on the children’s faces when they see Santa step down from the fire truck. Each of the children gets a fantastic gift from Santa purchased from a local toy store, and it is one of the happiest times of the year for the Angels.

We also want to thank Paulette Thorne of the YPD for arranging this wonderful event for the children.

Thanks you, Youngstown Fire Department.

Three cheers for staff at Northside Medical Center

EDITOR:

This is a sincere thank you to the professional and caring employees of Northside Medical Center who rushed to my aid.

As I was leaving Northside on Dec. 3, I tripped in the parking lot and fell. Immediately I was surrounded by an assortment of caring professionals making sure I was all right. Clemente Ambulance took me to the emergency room.

In the emergency room, I encountered a staff of equally caring employees. Thankfully, there was nothing wrong, and I was released.

We need Northside Medical Center in this area. Its caring, professional and dedicated staff is its greatest asset.

Kenny Rogers’ recognition of Kaluzas showed true class

EDITOR:

I went to see the Kenny Rogers concert recently at the Covelli Centre. Wow! What a great show.

He not only is a great singer, but he also entertained you through the whole show with videos and some clean, funny stuff.

What really impressed me was during the show, he took time out to recognize the Kaluzas — Joe and Lisa. That shows what a classy entertainer he is.

He also said he believes in wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, not just happy holidays.

Those of us who got to see the concert, how lucky we were.

Good Samaritan of Route 224 deserves public recognition

EDITOR:

A few days before Thanksgiving, a friend of the family was traveling on Route 224.

His “old clunker” broke down beyond repair. A car stopped, and an older gentleman — a complete stranger — handed him $200 and said “Happy Holidays” and drove away. This is truly a good Samaritan, and there are many out there reaching out to those who are in need, especially during these difficult times.

God bless them all for their goodness and kindness.
