Scattered among the trees and bushes in the yard of this Salem home are 2 million Christmas lights. Bob Sebo and his wife, Linda, painstakingly decorate the exterior of their Quaker Lane home for the holidays. The decorations, which include this large waving Santa as well as dozens of other displays, are the continuation of a tradition from when Sebo was a child where he and his parents would drive around and observe Christmas light displays. The lights stay on at the Sebo property from the day before Thanksgiving until New Year’s Day from 5 p.m. until midnight, which raises the Sebos’ electric bill nearly six times as much as any other month. But the extra cost is worth it to Sebo, who said his cul de sac can be backed up with the cars of people who drove to specifically see his display.
