The annual Old-Fashioned Punk Rock X-Mas kicks off at 10 p.m. Friday at Cedars and continues Saturday night. The reunion festival brings together a variety of bands that formed in the ’80s and established Youngstown’s first original music scene at Cedars. Friday’s acts include Up for Adoption, Carpet Beggars, Phil and the Blanks and Liquor Box. Saturday’s lineup includes 8 Balls, Rik Strange Experience, Infidels and Sacksville R&B Band. Admission is $6 each night.

The Butler Institute of American Art’s latest acquisition — a painting by legendary artist Jackson Pollock, the original Abstract Impressionist — will go on display Saturday. Holiday in Motion, the Arms Museum’s nostalgic exhibition of Christmases past, continues. The display includes working train displays, a vintage Nativity set, a roomful of vintage Santa Clauses and more. The exhibition can be seen daily through Jan. 10 (closed Mondays and New Year’s Day).
