Special to the Vindicator OPEN HOUSE: The annual Christmas Open House will continue at the Ward-Thomas Museum from 2-5 p.m. Jan. 3. The Victorian home, at 503 Brown St., Niles, is filled with seasonal decorations along with thousands of items on display in all of the 14 rooms. In the museum’s parlor, a Christmas tree reflects “A Christmas Past” with an antique train running under it. Admirers of the tree, above, are George John and Bob MIller. The parlor also features a china closet containing china made in Niles at the Atlas factory. On display in the library is a large collection of Goebel bells from the M.I. Hummel Co. Special displays fill every corner of the museum, including the First Ladies Gown Collection. Light refreshments will be served in the Westenfield Room. The donation to the museum is $5; admission is free for children under 12 accompanied by an adult.
