Leetonia water service to shut down Monday morning

LEETONIA —The Leetonia Water Department will shut down water service at 9 a.m. Monday to install a water valve to tie in to the new 12-inch water main line.

The waterline installation will feed the south side of town and allow for future growth, village officials said in a news release.

The water shut-off will affect residents on Columbia Street east of Wilson Street, all of Wilson, East High, Home, Nold and Cherry streets and Cherry Fork Avenue.

The water will be off four to five hours to complete the work. Village officials said customers affected by the water shut down will be under a boil order until further notice.

Residents will experience discolored water for a couple of days on the south side of town until the system settles. Residents also will experience low water pressure and volume until the system stabilizes, officials added.
