Joachims to mark 60th anniversary during reception

CANFIELD — The Rev. Arthur and Mrs. Joachim, 3137 Meanderwood Drive, will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on Dec. 27.

Members of the congregation and their friends have been invited to a reception in their honor following the worship service that day at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Boardman.

The couple will also attend an extended family dinner later in the afternoon.

Hosts for the festivities will be their children and their spouses, the Rev. David and Amy Joachim of Boardman and Lynn and Wendell Bell of Austin, Texas. There are six grandchildren in the family, Kyle, Lexi, Melody and Luke Joachim, and Andrew and Rebecca Bell.

The former Louise Kyle and Arthur Joachim were united in marriage Dec. 27, 1949, at Bethel United Presbyterian Church in Enon Valley, Pa.

The Rev. Mr. Joachim served with the U.S. Navy during World War II He was the pastor for two Presbyterian churches in the Youngstown area and four other Presbyterian churches prior to retiring 19 years ago. He is a runner and enjoys racing. In the past 28 years he has participated in 2,653 races.

Mrs. Joachim was a public schoolteacher and is a member of two doll clubs.
