Area organizations provide aid for needy

NEWTON FALLS — Several area organizations made sizeable donations to make the holiday season a little brighter for the needy in Newton Falls.

American Legion Post 236 donated $1,000 to Newton Falls Community Pantry to help provide food for people in need, and the American Legion Post 236 Ladies Auxiliary donated $250 for holiday needs.

Also contributing to the heart-warming project was a group known as the Scarlett Bonnet Red Hats, who donated $150 to help care for the needy during the holidays.
