Wrestling team wins first matches

In its first season as a varsity sport, the Poland Seminary wrestling team won both its opening matches.

Poland defeated Brookfield 42-30 and also won its match againt Warren JFK 76-6.

Poland basketball tickets on sale

The Poland High School athletic department is now selling reserved seats for boys basketball to all current season ticket holders. Season tickets are now open to the public. For more information, call 330-757-7018.

Poland boys basketball improves to 2-0

Niko Fatimus scored 24 points and Ben Donlow added 17 to lead Poland High’s boys basketball team to a 76-65 victory over Louisville Dec. 12.

David Baker had 13 rebounds for Poland, while Donlow added 12. Baker also had four blocked shots and Luke Wollet had seven assists and three assists.

Poland all sports booster basketball classic

Poland Boosters are hosting a basketball tournament for fourth, fifth, and sixth grade boys and girls Jan. 30-31, and Feb. 6-7. The tournament will be held at the high school, middle school and elementary school. To enter, the cost is $100 per team, and registrations and entry fees must be received by Jan. 22. It is limited to the first 40 paid entries.
