Cruzin’ for a cause

The Valley Cruzers raised over $3,000 for two community foundations through sponsors and weekly car cruises in 2009.

The Valley Cruzers at Joe Sylvester’s Shepherd Self Storage of Boardman, with support from Sean Pregibon’s Youngstown Sports Grille and other sponsors, presented checks of $1,500 each to Touched by Nathan Foundation and the Youngstown Foundation “Operation Search and Help” during a dinner Dec. 1. Club President Tom Eaton, Vice President Santo Reda, and Treasurer Jerry Kolesar presented the checks to Malanie Yannitto for Nathan Foundation and Mary Ann Schaper for Youngstown Foundation. The money the car club raised this year was made possible with the sponsors and the weekly cruisers that drive in from around the area and from neighboring states. Since the start of the club 10 years ago, the members have donated over $50,000 to area charities.
