Police looking for men who robbed couple in downtown Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN — Police are looking for two masked gunmen who robbed a couple in the downtown area.

According to police, a 19-year-old Boardman woman and a 25-year-old Warren man were walking through an alley near 131 W. Commerce St. about 2 a.m. today when two men brandishing guns ordered them to the ground. The men demanded money and took $47 from the woman.

Reports say the men searched the woman’s purse but did not take a cell phone or IPod inside the purse. The thieves also searched the man’s wallet, but tossed it aside without taking anything out of it.

Police searched the downtown area but could not find the men.
