Oakland Center to host open-mic night

YOUNGSTOWN — The Oakland Center for the Arts will host The Stage, its monthly open-mic night, 8 to 11 p.m. Wednesday. Registration for performers begins at 7 p.m. Performers also can preregister by e-mailing oaklandopenmic@gmail.com, or by calling Brooke Slanina at (330) 718-5515.

The Stage is co-hosted by Slanina and Matt Liller and features performers of all backgrounds, levels of experience, talent and ages. Past performance styles have included poets, bands, guitarists, pianists, singers, stand-up and sketch comedians, dancers, actors, writers, painters, fashion shows, side-show performers, magicians and gymnasts.

Admission is $5 (free for performers). The Oakland is at 220 W. Boardman St., downtown Youngstown. For more information, go to oaklandcenter.com.
