Christmas concert

LISBON — Musician Darryl Gatlin will perform a Christmas concert at 1 p.m. today at EDI Central, Columbiana County Board of Developmental Disabilities, 7675 state Route 45.

Woman, 92, terrorized

CAMPBELL — An elderly woman told police she was terrorized during a burglary at her assisted-living apartment. The woman, 92, lives at Vasu Manor on Roosevelt Boulevard.

She told police she was asleep in a recliner in her living room when a noise woke her around 11:15 p.m. Saturday. She said she saw a man and a woman standing in her bedroom.

After she asked who they were, the man covered her face with a pillow as she tried to scream, she told police. She said he grabbed her purse and stole $300.

Police said the woman’s front door was locked, but a bedroom window and screen were open.

UAW food distribution

LORDSTOWN — United Auto Workers Local 1112 at the General Motors Lordstown Complex is having its annual Care & Share food distribution at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the union hall at 11471 Reuther Drive S.W. The drive traditionally helps about 300 families.

Purse stolen at mall

BOARDMAN — A woman’s purse was snatched at gunpoint outside the Southern Park Mall. The 18-year-old woman told Boardman police she was walking to her car from the mall about 9:30 p.m. Friday when a white car pulled up next to her. She said a man wearing a white bandanna got out of the passenger’s side and pointed a silver semiautomatic pistol in her face.

The woman told police she threw her purse at the man, who got back into the car, and the driver sped away northbound in the parking lot.

The victim’s purse was valued at about $200. She said it contained a $300 iPod, a Visa debit card, a driver’s license, keys and a $25 gift card. Police were unable to locate the suspects.

H1N1 vaccine available

YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown City Health District is offering the H1N1 influenza vaccine free at its office at 345 Oak Hill Ave., second floor, Youngstown, at these times to all residents: 1 to 6 p.m. Wednesday; 2 to 6 p.m. Jan. 14; and 2 to 6 p.m. Jan. 25.

Food-basket program

NEW MIDDLETOWN — The Springfield Food Basket program will be doing its annual packing and delivery Friday and Saturday. Volunteers wil be welcomed. The packing is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday at the Springfield High School cafeteria, 11335 Youngstown- Pittsburgh Road. Distribution will start at 9 a.m. Saturday.
