BIG TEN \ Saturday’s other games

No. 4 Kentucky 90, Indiana 73

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Eric Bledsoe scored 23 points and Patrick Patterson had 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead Kentucky. John Calipari matched Adolph Rupp’s record start for a first-year Kentucky coach by improving to 10-0, and the Wildcats moved within two wins of becoming the first Division I men’s basketball program with 2,000 victories. Freshman Maurice Creek had a season-high 31 points for the Hoosiers (4-5), who have lost seven of eight in this series. Kentucky had a 49-24 rebound advantage.

No. 20 Wisconsin 72, Marquette 63

MADISON, Wis. — Jon Leuer scored 24 points to lead Wisconsin over its in-state rival. It was career victory No. 200 at Wisconsin for Bo Ryan and the second straight big scoring performance by Leuer for the Badgers (7-2), who jumped into the Top 25 after beating Duke last week — only to lose at Wisconsin-Green Bay on Wednesday despite getting a career-high 26 points from Leuer. Lazar Hayward scored 21 points for Marquette (7-3).

Virginia Tech 66, Penn State 64

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — Malcolm Delaney scored 11 of his 27 points during a key second-half stretch and Virginia Tech benefited from Penn State’s poor foul shooting. Delaney led the Hokies (8-1) to a 53-47 lead with 10:57 left after a three-point play. Andrew Jones’ two foul shots put the Nittany Lions back on top 59-58 with 4:20 left. But Delaney sank two free throws after Chris Babb was whistled for an intentional foul on a fast break. Later, Penn State’s Talor Battle missed two free throws, while Tech’s Dorenzo Hudson followed with two foul shots for a 62-59 lead with 1:50 left. A deep 3 by Battle with 7.7 seconds left got Penn State within 65-64. After a Hokies free throw, Battle missed a potential game-tying layup at the buzzer.

Minnesota 97, St. Joseph’s 74

MINNEAPOLIS — Blake Hoffarber kept up his sharp shooting as a starter with 20 points and Ralph Sampson had his first career double-double.
