LONGBOAT KEY, Fla. — Married on the beach at the Longboat Key Hilton Beachfront Resort were Wendi Pierce and Robert Spatar, both of Boardman, in a 6 p.m. ceremony Oct. 17.

Dr. Stephen Lortz officiated for the daughter of James and Pamela Pierce of Girard and the son of George and Anita Spatar of Girard.

After honeymooning on the Hawaiian island of Maui, the couple reside in Boardman.

The bride’s white strapless gown featured a sweetheart neckline, a beaded bodice and a semicathedral train.

Juli Barnes, the bride’s twin, was her matron of honor and wore a cobalt blue gown, as did the bridesmaid, Sherrie Spatar, the groom’s sister-in-law. Taylor Spatar, the groom’s niece, was the flower girl.

Jeff Spatar, the groom’s twin, was a best man, as was Anthony Spatar, another brother. Serving as ring bearer was Justin Spatar, the groom’s nephew.

The bride graduated from Youngstown State University with a degree in applied science. She is a registered dental hygienist for Dr. Gary Hubbard in Canfield.

The groom graduated from Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in resource management. He will also graduate in May from YSU with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He is employed as a police officer with the Boardman police department.
