The clinic will house nine new medical-examination rooms and six dental operatories.

WARREN — One Health Ohio, formerly known as Ohio North East Health Systems, plans to open a new medical/dental facility in southeast Warren in spring 2010.

It will be the second facility in Warren and fourth clinic overall operated by One Health Ohio, which has its headquarters at the Youngstown Community Health Clinic on Wick Avenue.

The new Warren Clinic will be located in the former Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority building at 1977 Niles Road S.E., said Dr. Ronald Dwinnells, One Health Ohio chief executive officer.

A press conference is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Monday to introduce the new facility, which, when completed, will house nine new medical- examination rooms and six dental operatories.

An operatory is a room or other area with special equipment and facilities.

“This will bring our total number of medical-examination rooms to 34 and dental operatories to 26 at our locations in Warren, Youngstown and Alliance,” Dr. Dwinnells said.

One Health Ohio has about 70,000 patient-visits a year from seven counties in Northeast Ohio, he said.

“This is an exciting new venture for us in our quest to increase access to quality health care for our community. Much of the renovation and equipment costs are supported through our grant through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. This new facility will be our largest physical site when completed next spring,” the doctor said.

People slated to speak at the press conference include U.S. Rep. Timothy Ryan of Niles, D-17th; Warren Mayor Michael O’Brien; Pamela McCoy, mother of Lloyd McCoy, an 11-year-old who was killed in a neighborhood shooting; Dr. Dwinnells; and Elizabeth Haddle, One Health Ohio chief operating officer.
