Local home sales rose for November

November was a good month for the local housing market.

Home sales were up last month in Trumbull and Columbiana counties and stable in Mahoning County.

Mahoning County had 150 home sales last month, compared with 153 in November 2008, according to figures released Friday by the Youngstown Columbiana Association of Realtors.

The average selling price last month was $91,510 in Mahoning County, up from $78,128 in November 2008. It took an average of 108 days to sell a house in the county last month, compared with 91 in November 2008.

In Trumbull County, home sales rose to 139 last month, up from 121 in November 2008.

The average selling price in that county last month was $78,161, up from $58,564 in the same month a year ago. It took an average of 118 days to sell a house last month, compared with 120 in November 2008.

Columbiana County recorded 56 home sales last month, up from 48 in November 2008.

The average selling price in that county last month was $82,264, up from $76,325 in the same month of 2008. It took an average of 130 days to sell a house in the county last month, compared with 74 in November 2008.
