What do you like best about living in your town?:
My immediate neighborhood. We are friends and look out for each other.
What one thing would you add to your town if money was not an issue?
New classrooms/band room at the high school and an enhanced curriculum which offers more electives and mid-level courses.
Describe the last community event you went to:
In Youngstown, I attended the Thanksgiving Hymn Fest at Martin Luther Lutheran Church where Tom Pavlechko played organ and led the song fest. It was wonderful to hear him play that organ and to sing those hymns.
In Poland, I attended the Poland Players’ production of “Up the Down Staircase.” The students did a nice job and it is good to support their efforts.
If there was a store or business to add to your town, which would you like it to be?
A community meeting place with a room (or rooms) which could be used, without rent, for community groups to meet. If it had a coffee bar, that would be nice, too.
If you could name a street after someone, who would it be?
Probably Powers Way after Emily and John Weed Powers. They are pretty special people in Poland.
Where is your favorite place in town to go for a little hide-away time or bite to eat?
Hide-a-way would be Barnes and Noble, and for a meal, our family always chooses Inner Circle.
What one place would you direct an outsider to visit to experience your town, and why?
The Poland Woods. A treasure in the middle of everything.
Is there a song, book or movie that you hear or see and say “They’re describing me?:
I am still working on a soundtrack for my life, but the movie would probably be “Cool Comfort Farm.”
