Campbell man gets prison time for beating infant boy
YOUNGSTOWN — A 20-year-old Campbell man who admitted to beating a 16-month-old South Side boy in July will serve five years in prison for the crime.
Jerbrail Grhim of Monroe Street was sentenced this morning by Judge R. Scott Krichbaum of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court. He had pleaded guilty to a charge of felonious assault in the case.
Information presented before sentencing indicated that the child has recovered from his physical injuries but is dealing with emotional issues resulting from the attack, including a fear of men and fear of water.
A police report on the assault said the child was held underwater in a bathtub and beaten with a coat hanger.
