Quaker Steak creating contest

SHARON, Pa. — Quaker Steak & Lube is creating a video contest for customers to launch its latest chicken-wing sauce, the Triple Atomic.

“We want to know if you’re tough enough to handle the heat of our latest sauce,” said Bob Mentrek, senior vice president of promotions and marketing of the Sharon-based restaurant chain.

Customers are asked to create a video of up to 30 seconds that demonstrates how tough they are. The winner will receive free wings for three years and a $500 gift card.

Other prizes include a $250 gift card for second place, $100 gift card for third place and a $25 gift card for others that finish in the Top 10.

Videos can be uploaded at the Web site TripleAtomicTough.com. Rules of the competition are listed on the site.

The contest starts Saturday and ends Jan. 25.

The 10 finalists will be announced Jan. 30, but the winner will be determined by public voting. Voting will be done through YouTube.com from Jan. 30 to Feb. 13.

The winner will be announced Feb. 18.

Quaker Steak, which has 21 sauce varieties, operates 35 locations in 12 states and one site in Canada.
