Jabali African Cultural event at YSU set for Friday


YOUNGSTOWN — The 10th annual Jabali (The Rock) African Cultural Celebration sponsored by Youngstown State University’s Africana Studies Program will begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center.

Mayor Jay Williams is the keynote speaker, and the topic will be, “Youngstown On the Rebound.”

Dinner will feature various traditional African dishes. The Harambee Youth Group and the African Student Union will provide entertainment.

Admission is $25 per person, ($10 for YSU students) and $175 for a table of 8. Tickets are available at the door or reservations may be made by calling (330) 941–3409 or 941–3097.
