Youngstown-Warren area ranked 25th by Forbes
YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown-Warren metropolitan area ranked No. 25 in a ranking of “America’s Best Bang-For-The-Buck Cities” by Forbes magazine.
The survey looked at various factors related to the housing and job markets and travel time needed to get to work.
The local area’s best ranking came in housing affordability, where it was No. 3, and its worst ranking was in a job forecast, where it was No. 90.
The Omaha, Neb., area topped the overall rankings. Pittsburgh ranked No. 22, and Cleveland was No. 74. The survey examined the 100 largest metropolitan areas.
NorTech to assist in creation of incubator
WARREN — NorTech, an economic development agency based in Cleveland, said it will assist in creating a business incubator in Warren. NorTech said it will aid with developing a business strategy, operating plan and governance structure.
U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Niles, D-17th, earlier this year announced a $2 million federal grant to rehabilitate a building in Warren. The incubator will focus on creating and expanding alternative-energy sources and green building materials.
