A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

Nov. 20

Theft: Police arrested a 17-year-old Boardman student for theft of a 2003 Pontiac Bonneville at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 7300 N. Palmyra Road. The car had been donated to the school by General Motors and was recovered in Boardman.

Nov. 25

Breaking and entering: A possible break-in at McDonald’s Restaurant, 586 E. Main St., was reported by the manager. A door had the glass broken out and it was unsecured.

Nov. 30

Fraudulent charges: A resident of the 60 block of Brookpark Drive reported that $99 was fraudulently withdrawn from his bank account by an Internet company.

Dec. 1

Disorderly conduct: Police arrested Audrey Birch, 46, of 420 Fairground Blvd. for disorderly conduct. She was found walking north of her house saying she was looking for her cat. A patrol officer told her to return to her house, where she fell and hit her head on a porch and had to be taken to the hospital.

AUSTINTOWN

Nov. 30

Theft: Two unauthorized withdrawals were made from a bank account for $61.25 and $76.01 at the BP gas station, 3602 Mahoning Ave., using a debit card its owner had reported lost to police.

Theft: An Ipod and speaker were stolen from an auto at an apartment in the 1000 block of Fountain Square.

Bad checks: Four bad checks totaling $1,195.31 from another bank were cashed against a Woodforest National City Bank account by the victim’s daughter and another female.

Theft: A wallet was taken from an unlocked vehicle at a home in the 1000 block of Bexley Drive.

Identity theft: A man was a victim of identity theft in the 4000 block of Aspen Drive.

Theft: Police charged a 17-year-old Youngstown boy with a theft from the Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave., and turned him over to his mother. He was caught by a store employee with $31.64 in merchandise he had not paid for.

Auto theft: A 2002 Pontiac Grand am was stolen from the 1000 block of North Meridian Road and located by Youngstown police.

Theft: A resident of the 3000 block of Tall Oak Lane reported that $89.76 had been withdrawn from his bank account by Time Warner Cable, and he is not a customer of the company.

Dec. 1

Criminal trespassing: Police charged Aaron Lee Jones, 39, of 1560 Himrod Ave., Youngstown, with criminal trespassing at Phoenix House, 850 N. Meridian Road.

Falsification: Police arrested Christopher A. Pethtel, 18, of 2219 Cherry Hill Drive, Youngstown, for failing to leave Austintown Middle School as instructed by school officials and gave false information about his identity to police. He was reportedly using vulgar language and acting unruly at the school.

Fraud: An Oaktrace man said he paid $29,500 for a piece of land in the 2000 block of North Canfield-Niles Road but later discovered the property already had been sold at a sheriff’s auction.

Theft: A snow plow was taken from 76 Plaza, 5325 Seventy-Six Drive.

Larceny: Police arrested Jason R. Stiner, 25, of 3909 Staatz Drive, Austintown on a warrant from Youngstown for larceny and theft after a traffic stop at South Meridian Road and Elmwood Avenue.

Theft: Police arrested Nicholas Pellice, 30, of 44 Rosemont Ave., Austintown, on a bench warrant in the 4000 block of New Road on a theft charge.

Dec. 2

Fraud: Unauthorized purchases totaling $178.48 were made using the victim’s Visa/debit card at a home in the 5000 block of Baylor Avenue.

Fraud: Unauthorized charges were made to a woman from an apartment in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Boulevard, with $33.98 withdrawn from her account three times by an ID-protection company that she did not authorize.

Breaking and entering: Entry was gained through an unlocked west door at Window Pain, 3614 Canfield Road.

Arrest: Police arrested Anthony Schaffer, 22, of 4405 Plumbrook Drive, Canfield, on a Portage County warrant for receiving stolen property.

Theft: A ladies’ watch and coins were stolen from a home in the 3000 block of Artmar Drive.

Fraud: Unauthorized charges were reported by a resident of the 200 block of Idlewood Road with $129.90 in withdrawals made by a company she did not authorize to make the withdrawals and $120 in overdraft fees because of the withdrawals.

Theft: A total of $36.72 in gasoline was stolen from Country Fair, 1143 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Aggravated menacing: A man reported that while he was walking on North Roanoke Avenue, a man in a vehicle stopped next to him and showed him a gun and told him to give a threatening message to his brother.

Dec. 3

Criminal damaging: A window was broken on a vacant building in the 4000 block of Mahoning Avenue.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged at Wal-Mart.

Theft: An Xbox 360, games and a computer were stolen from a home in the 40 block of South Edgehill Avenue.

Theft: A woman’s wallet was stolen at Wendy’s, 27 S. Raccoon Road.

Fraud: Unauthorized charges were made to a Visa at a home in the 1000 block of South Turner Road.

Theft: A resident of the 100 block of South Main Street paid a man to prepare her tax return but the return was never filed.

Dec. 4

Burglary: A Wii game system was taken from a home in the 30 block of Atlanta Avenue.

Criminal damaging: Six windows in a vehicle were broken at the Babylon, 114 Javit Court.

Domestic violence: A 14-year-old of 595 S. Canfield-Niles Road was arrested for domestic violence.

Dec. 5

Criminal damaging: A window screen and Christmas lights were damaged at a home in the 5000 block of London Drive.

Criminal damaging: A tire was cut at the Babylon, 114 Javit Court.

Criminal damaging: A woman’s car was damaged by a male suspect at the Go Go Cabaret, 5455 Clarkins Drive.

Theft: A leather bag containing a television and movies was stolen from a room at the Fairfield Inn, 801 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: Tonya Johnson, 36, of 167 Hilton Ave., Youngstown, was issued a summons for theft at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal trespassing: Steven Jenkins, 32, of 1764 South Heights Ave., Youngstown, was issued a summons for criminal trespassing at an apartment in the 1000 block of Compass West apartments.

Lost or stolen property: A woman reported her wallet lost or stolen at Club Gossip, 1743 S. Raccoon Road.

Dec. 6

Burglary: An attached garage was broken into in the 2000 block of South Canfield-Niles Road.
