Alliance hospital nurses accept 1-year wage freeze

ALLIANCE — Registered nurses at Alliance Community Hospital have agreed to a one-year wage freeze.

The hospital said that the Ohio Nurses Association, which represents 180 nurses at the hospital, has approved a one-year contract that took effect Sunday.

The hospital said its management team agreed to a salary reduction of 2.3 percent. A news release said the hospital is dealing with the cost of a newly mandated state franchise fee imposed on hospitals and an increase in charity care and debt that is not being paid by patients.
