Akron Children’s Mahoning Valley Beeghly Campus, a 32-bed pediatric hospital located in the former Forum Health Beeghly Medical Park, 6505 Market St., opened Dec. 8. Its first anniversary is Tuesday.

First-year milestones

Air Bear, pediatric helicopter.

McFamily Respite Center opens with the support of Ronald McDonald Charities.

Special Care Nursery opens with space for 18 fragile newborns.

Kids Crew women’s volunteer group formed.

Community Leadership Council formed.

Inaugural Miracles and Promises radiothon raised $95,200.

Mahoning Valley locations

Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley Beeghly Campus, 6505 Market St., Boardman. A 32-bed pediatric hospital with an emergency department open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Neotatal Special Care Nursery at St. Elizabeth Health Center, 1044 Belmont Ave., Youngstown. Provides specialized care for premature and critically ill newborns.

Tri-County Child Advocacy Center, 1350 Fifth Ave., Suite 106, Youngstown. Provides medical and forensic evaluations for children and teens who may have been physically or sexually abused, as well as medical evaluations for kids in foster care.

Community Outreach, Education and Support Center. Southwoods Executive Centre, 100 DeBartolo Place, Suite 115, Boardman. Provides education and support to patients, families, caregivers, school systems and the community.

Pediatric Specialty Care, Boardman Medical Pavilion located at the St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center, 8423 Market St., Suite 300, Boardman. Board-certified pediatric specialists provide outpatient services in genetics, nephrology, neurology, orthopedics, pulmonology and rheumatology. The Boardman Medical Pavilion also is home to the Boardman office of Akron Children’s Heart Center.
