Magners observe 50th anniversary at area restaurant

POLAND — Mr. and Mrs. George Magner of Western Reserve Road observed their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 24 at the Caff Capri in Boardman.

They were united in marriage on that date in 1959 at Sacred Heart Church in Youngstown.

Mrs. Magner, the former Mary Nackino, was employed in the bookkeeping department at Dollar Savings Trust, and then as a new accounts representative at National City Bank in Youngstown. After working 43 years, she retired in 1996. She is a member of the Silver Dollar Retirees and Youngstown Chapter of the AARP.

Mr. Magner was an MP with the U.S. Air Force during World War II and served a second tour of duty during the Korean War as a supply sergeant stationed in Japan. He owned and operated Clothes Corral in Hubbard until retiring in 1989.
