Galaxy Seafood robbed a second time
STAFF REPORT
YOUNGSTOWN — For the second time in 10 days, armed robbers got away with money from a Belmont Avenue specialty-food store.
Two gunmen got away with an undisclosed amount of cash from Galaxy Seafood, 1722 Belmont Ave., at 12:29 p.m. Saturday, according to a police report.
The two men — wearing black hooded sweatshirts and red bandannas to hide their faces — couldn’t open the store’s cash register so they took a bank deposit bag and fled on foot.
The store owner chased the two but lost them on Griffith Street as the robbers were running through backyards to escape, the report states.
The store owner didn’t know how much money was in the deposit bag. Besides the owner, there was one employee and one customer in the store at the time of the robbery.
On the evening of Nov. 25, a robber with two guns got away with an undisclosed amount of money from the store’s cash register. That robber also was chased, but like the two involved in Saturday’s holdup, he was able to escape on foot.
