Holiday traditions to be explored


SALEM — The public is invited to attend the 7 p.m. meeting of Salem Historical Society Tuesday at the club room, where Christopher Kenney, director of education at the McKinley Museum in Canton, will explore the history of cherished holiday traditions and symbols. The fully illustrated historical journey will look at Hanukkah traditions, the meaning behind Kwanzaa, and the symbolism of such things as the Christmas tree, candy canes, mistletoe and Santa Claus.
