ASSOCIATIONS

• American Slovak Cultural Association will have a vilija (traditional Slovak Christmas Eve meal) at 4 p.m. Dec. 13 in the Father Snock Parish Center at St. Matthias Church, 2800 Shady Run Road. There will be musical entertainment, and Bishop George Murry will be a special guest. Tickets are $20 and must be purchased in advance; none will be sold at the door. • NARFE Chapter 14 (for active and retired federal employees) will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road. A representative of the Visiting Nurse Association will speak. All active and retired federal employees, spouses and friends are invited to join the group for lunch. Plan to attend. The next meeting after the winter break will be in March 2010.

ATHLETIC GROUPS

• McDonald Baseball Association will meet at 6 p.m. Sunday in the senior citizens room at the post office building.

• McDonald Sideliners will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Blue Devil Room.

AUXILIARIES

• McDonald Music Boosters will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the high school.

CLASSES

• Campbell Memorial High School January and June classes of 1948 will meet for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Denny’s restaurant on Route 224 in Boardman. All classmates and spouses are invited.

• Campbell Memorial High School Class of 1950 will have a Christmas party at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bedford Trails in Coitsville. Dinner will be at 2. Reservations are to be made by calling (330) 536-6508.

• Campbell Memorial High School Class of 1955 will meet for the monthly “Club 55” breakfast meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday at What’s Cookin’ restaurant, South Avenue in the Mathews Road Plaza, Boardman.

• Chaney High School January and June 1942 alumni will meet at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Denny’s in Austintown. No reservations required. Guests welcome.

• Chaney High School January and June Classes of 1948 will meet for lunch at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Molly’s on Salt Springs Road. All alumni are invited.

• Woodrow Wilson High School Classes of January and June 1947 will meet at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Denny’s in Boardman. Members of the 1946 and 1948 classes are also welcome.

CLUBS

• Austintown Homemakers Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Marino’s for a Christmas luncheon. Included in the festivities will be an optional $5 gift exchange.

• Mahoning Valley Stamp Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at Highway Tabernacle, 3000 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown, for the club’s Christmas party. The club meets the second Thursday of each month.

• McDonald Literary Guild will meet at 8 p.m. Thursday at Woodland Park United Methodist Church.

• McDonald Parents of Performing Arts will meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the senior citizens room at the post office building.

• Poland Women’s Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Lake Club, 1140 Paulin Road, for its holiday celebration. Dinner will be served, and there will be a cash bar. Don’t forget to take your $10 wrapped gift.

• Struthers K. of C. 4224 Ladies will meet at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 14 at the Springfield Grille and have lunch at 1 p.m. Members are reminded to take items to be donated to the Beatitude House. Hostesses will be Mimmie Edwards and Julie Mrofchak.

GRANGES

• Dublin Grange will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the grange. Members are asked to take canned food for the needy and cookies for the lunch. There will be a $1 gift exchange.

RELIGIOUS GROUPS

• Catholic War Veterans Paul Sgambatti Post 1903 and the Auxiliary will meet Thursday at 7 p.m. in the parish house meeting room.

• Community Christian Women will meet at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 14 at The Links at Firestone Farms. Shirley Griffin of Salem will present a Christmas program, “The Davy Crockett Hat.” The meeting will begin with a luncheon for $6. Reservations should be made with your church representative by Thursday. • Fred Childress Greater Mahoning Valley Parkinson Support Group will meet for a potluck Christmas dinner from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road.
