Man released on bond says he was robbed

WARREN — A Jefferson Street Southwest man, arrested last week on drug charges when more than 100 law enforcement officers descended on the city in a drug sweep, was the victim of a robbery, he reported Tuesday.

Drew L. Reid, 57, of 1633 Jefferson Street, told police he returned home Tuesday afternoon to find four young males in his home.

The four started to run out the back door of the house, so he grabbed one of them and locked him in a bedroom, but the man went out a window and escaped, he told police.

Reid said he could see that a lot of his things were missing from the home, but he will give police a complete list later, he said.

Reid was in Trumbull County jail from Nov. 25 until he was released on $75,000 bond Monday after pleading innocent in Warren Municipal Court to aggravated drug trafficking. He returns to court today for a preliminary hearing.
