A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:
HUBBARD
Nov. 28
Menacing: A Christian Avenue man and his wife told police that someone had attempted to run her vehicle off the road.
Nov. 30
Theft: Police received a report of a stolen carpet cleaner from an East Liberty Street business.
Theft: A woman returned to her home in the 200 block of East Liberty Street and found numerous items missing.
Assault: A Hubbard boy, 17, was arrested after an East Liberty Street woman claimed he had punched her.
Dec. 1
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Moore Street woman reported her 2000 Pontiac had been used without permission.
Theft: A man was issued a criminal-trespassing warning after a shoplifting situation at Dollar General, 884 W. Liberty St.
LIBERTY
Nov. 28
Arrest: Authorities checked a suspicious vehicle in the 3500 block of Belmont Avenue, then arrested a Warren man, 24, wanted on several warrants from Mahoning County.
Breaking and entering: Someone entered Liberty Presbyterian Church, 1451 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, and removed two videocassette recorders and a 19-inch TV, for an estimated $200 loss.
Robbery: An employee with Conroy’s Xpress, 4446 Logan Way, reported a man in a dark coat and jeans with a scarf over his face used a knife to demand money before getting away with an undisclosed amount.
Theft: Two 13-year-old boys were accused in, but not charged with, the theft of two pairs of gloves from Wal-Mart, 200 Goldie Road. Both were released to the custody of their parents.
Theft: A parking permit was removed from a vehicle in the 500 block of Goldie Road.
Nov. 29
Domestic violence: A 32-year-old man was taken into custody at his Green Acres Drive residence and charged after a woman alleged that during an argument, he grabbed and twisted both of her wrists, kicked her several times and, in a fit of rage, dragged her through part of the home.
Nov. 30
Theft/weapon: A Warren man, 37, faced charges of theft, carrying a concealed weapon, obstructing official business and possession of criminal tools after being accused of using a razor to cut open two packages at Wal-Mart and trying to flee from security personnel attempting to detain him. The man also was wanted on a probation-violation warrant.
Theft: A 20-year-old Mineral Ridge man was charged with theft and possession of criminal tools, accused of using a folding knife at Wal-Mart to cut packages containing a computer hard drive and video games.
Burglary: To a home in the 1400 block of Church Hill Road after a side door had been forced open. Stolen were a digital camera and four video games, for a loss of $800.
Theft: A Youngstown woman’s wallet was missing from a restroom at a state Route 193 store.
Dec. 1
Domestic violence: A 45-year-old township man was charged, accused of grabbing his wife and punching his son several times in the face when the son tried to contact police.
Domestic violence: A Liberty man, 28, was charged with shoving his girlfriend into a refrigerator during an argument, repeatedly punching the woman and biting her. Police saw a bite mark on her index finger, a report said.
Breaking and entering: Someone entered Arthur Treacher’s Fish & Chips, 3707 Belmont Ave., through the front door and ransacked an office, though nothing appeared to be missing.
Dec. 2
Theft/menacing: A Hadley Avenue woman told police she believed a male acquaintance stole her cell phone, then left a message threatening to shoot her residence.
GIRARD
Nov. 29
Criminal mischief: Someone threw a rock through a window in the 200 block of East Main Street. Damage came to about $100.
Identity fraud: A Shannon Road woman checked her account online and found out someone had withdrawn $912.
Criminal mischief: Rocks were tossed at a residence in the 600 block of Powers Avenue.
Nov. 30
Criminal damaging: A key was used to cause an estimated $500 worth of damage to a vehicle’s paint in the 200 block of Plymouth Avenue.
Assault: A woman in the 200 block of East Kline Street told officers that as she tried to leave the residence, another woman struck the accuser in the face and shoulder and grabbed and twisted her wrist.
Aggravated menacing: A woman told authorities that while she was in the 900 block of North State Street, a male had made a threatening call, implying he would kill her.
Criminal mischief: Someone cut a lock and chain on a gate at a Mill Street business.
Dec. 2
Theft: Someone entered a car in the 1100 block of North State Street and took $550 from an envelope.
