A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:

POLAND

Nov. 26

Burglary: To a residence in the 2200 block of Lyon Boulevard, where a $750 TV, 25 DVDs and money were stolen, for an estimated loss of $1,060.

Nov. 28

Burglary: Report filed from the 5800 block of Struthers Road. Among the property taken were two firearms, an $1,800 laptop computer and money.

Theft/vandalism: A report was filed from a home in the 6000 block of Quarry Road. A set of kitchen cabinets, wood trim, a toilet and a breaker box were stolen or damaged.

BOARDMAN

Nov. 27

Domestic violence: A Youngstown girl, 17, was charged after her sister alleged the teen beat up and tossed the accuser from a vehicle near the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: Fifteen bundles of shingles and other roofing supplies were removed from a driveway in the 200 block of Wildwood Drive.

Auto theft: A 1996 Ford Taurus was stolen in the 100 block of Homestead Drive.

Misuse of a credit card: A Poland woman’s debit card was used without consent to buy $18 worth of gasoline at a South Avenue station.

Criminal damaging: A plastic mailbox in the 7500 block of West Parkside Drive sustained $60 worth of damage.

Theft: A 16-year-old township boy was charged with stealing two computer memory cards from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Arrest: A 48-year-old New Springfield man was picked up in the 800 block of Boardman-Canfield Road on a probation-violation charge.

Breaking and entering: Someone used a vehicle to ram a garage door to The Tire Pad, 4730 Southern Blvd., but failed to gain access. Nevertheless, the front door was pried open, an office ransacked and an undisclosed sum of money taken.

Nov. 28

Assault: An Albuquerque, N.M., man suffered a swollen jaw and another injury after telling police he had been punched and struck while at a Tiffany Boulevard restaurant.

Arrest: Authorities assisted fire department personnel in the 5700 block of Sheridan Road and arrested a Canfield man, 27, wanted on a probation-violation count.

Theft/vandalism: Two city girls, 15 and 16, faced misdemeanor theft and felony vandalism charges after $412 worth of clothing was stolen from the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall. Both were caught in a fitting room burning ink tags on the items to avoid activating the store’s security sensors, a report said.

Theft: A laptop computer and a leveling device were stolen from a truck at a Tiffany Boulevard eatery.

Criminal mischief: Someone deliberately tipped over two benches in the 100 block of Mathews Road, causing one to fall into a pond.

Attempted breaking and entering: A rear sliding- glass drive-through window was broken at Brown’s Drugs, 5106 Southern Blvd., apparently as someone tried to enter.

Domestic violence: Youngstown police handed to Boardman authorities a city man, 31, accused of threatening to kill a Mathews Road woman and their children.

Arrest: Police booked a 20-year-old township woman on a probation-violation charge.

Theft: A Canfield woman reported a $350 digital camera stolen while in the 7800 block of Market Street.

Theft: A woman took a comforter and a package of diapers from Family Dollar, 4026 South Ave.

Nov. 29

Weapon: A traffic stop near Lynn Avenue led to a 22-year-old New Springfield man’s being charged with carrying a concealed weapon when, police said, a set of brass knuckles was found.

Identity theft: A Pine Tree Lane woman discovered someone had used her name and a photograph to open an online account.

Burglary: Took place in the 70 block of Terrace Drive after someone kicked open a rear door. Stolen were a 42-inch flat-screen TV, an Xbox 360 system, 20 Xbox games and a gold ring.

Criminal damaging: A 22-year-old township man was taken into custody on a warrant from Youngstown charging him.

Theft: A Boardman man, 44, was charged in the theft of $78 worth of merchandise from Deals Nothing Over a Dollar, 225 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Recovered property: Authorities investigated a suspicious vehicle near Oakridge Avenue and learned the 2003 Pontiac Bonneville had been stolen in Canfield.

Robbery: A Shields Road man reported two men in their 20s robbed the accuser at gunpoint in his apartment, took his wallet and cell phone and struck him while demanding the personal identification number to his bank card.

Drug paraphernalia: Officers responded to a loud-music complaint at a Becky Court apartment and cited a township man, 30, after saying two suspected marijuana pipes were on a table. He also was wanted on a probation-

violation charge.

Nov. 30

Arrest: A 38-year-old Boardman man was arrested on a probation-violation charge after officers stopped him near Indianola Road.

Arrest: Police took custody of a 21-year-old Youngstown man at Mahoning County Court No. 2 on Boardman-Canfield Road. He was wanted on charges of obstructing official business and disorderly conduct.

Menacing: A South Avenue man told police he had been threatened with bodily harm.

Fraud/forgery: A Waseka Lane man found out four checks totaling $1,600 had been written from his account with his signature forged.

Identity fraud: A township man discovered his name and Social Security number had been used without authorization on an application for an investment account.

Auto theft: A 1993 Buick Century was stolen in the 4100 block of South Avenue.

Theft: Two people stole nine DVDs from Dollar General, 271 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Misuse of a credit card: A Southern Boulevard woman told officers her debit card had been used to make two unauthorized transactions totaling $48.

Dec. 1

Burglary: In the 4100 block of Mill Trace Drive via the front door, where a 42-inch TV, a checkbook, $220 and another item were taken.

Weapon: Police pulled over a 24-year-old Beaver Falls, Pa., man near South Avenue and charged him with carrying a concealed weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia. Found were a knife in its sheath and a suspected marijuana pipe, a report showed.
