Youngstown police investigating theft of metal from historic city site


YOUNGSTOWN — City police are investigating the theft of about 1,000 pounds of metal from a historic city site.

According to a police report, about 1,000 pounds of metal parts were stolen Monday night from the Tod Engine Heritage Park on Hubbard Road. The parts go to the engine and other railroad items.

Some of the parts missing include 15 large hex nuts which weigh more than 30 pounds each and are more than 90 years old. The value of the parts is estimated at about $5,000.
