Date announced for McKay-Abalos wedding in Va.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Cynthia McKay, 1811 Potomac Green Drive, formerly of Poland, Ohio, and Benjamin Abalos, 2101 Shenandoah Road, are announcing their engagement and plans for their upcoming marriage.
Invitations will be issued for the wedding they have planned for 7 p.m. Dec. 31 at St. Mary Catholic Church, and for their reception immediately after the ceremony at Hilton Old Town.
The bride elect is a daughter of the late James N.B. and Judith H. McKay, who had lived in Poland. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va., and received her juris doctorate from William and Mary School of Law in Williamsburg, Va. She is an attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington.
The prospective groom is a son of Auxenia M. Abalos of California and the late Juan R. Abalos. He served as a captain in the U.S. Navy and earned a bachelor’s degree and his juris doctorate from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa. He is a professor of taxation and commercial law in the Washington area.
