Pa. restaurant raises funds for shooting victim’s son

BRIDGEVILLE, Pa. (AP) — A western Pennsylvania restaurant located in the same shopping plaza where a gunman opened fire at a fitness club had a fundraiser for the son of one victim.

Napoli’s Restaurant had a breakfast and auction Sunday morning to raise money for Ian Overmier’s education. About 400 people attended.

The 15-year-old’s mother, Heidi Overmier, was shot and killed Aug. 4 when a gunman opened fire in an aerobics class at LA Fitness in Collier Township.

The event raised about $8,200 — money that will help pay for Ian Overmier’s college education. He lives with his father in Charleston, S.C.
