new on home video \ This week’s DVD releases

“Adventureland” (R and unrated versions): Jesse Eisenberg plays James Brennan, a recent college grad forced to live at home and get a job at an amusement park. Post critic Ann Hornaday loved the movie, saying, “Director Greg Mottola manages to capture the absurdity and anguish of young adulthood; his tender look back will ring wistfully true to anyone who has fallen in love, left home or still wonders what it would be like to do either.” And it boasts a great 1980s soundtrack. Extras include deleted scenes and a making-of featurette. Also on Blu-ray.

“Sunshine Cleaning” (R): The plot of this comedy-drama is weak, but The Post’s Dan Zak said Amy Adams and Emily Blunt make the most of their roles as sisters trying to make some quick cash by working in the crime-scene cleanup business. Also on Blu-ray.

“Goodbye Solo” (R): This film from director Ramin Bahrani” (“Man Push Cart,” “Chop Shop”) is a moving tale about a Senegalese immigrant cab driver and his unlikely relationship with an elderly, white Southern man. Hornaday said the movie is a winner, adding: “Like all of Bahrani’s films, the film is visually simple and stunning. ... But more important, it’s driven by deep feeling and sensitivity. Don’t miss it.”

“Rudo y Cursi” (R): Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna are two brothers in southern Mexico whose only escape is soccer. Its plot is simple, said Zak, “but for lovers of Luna and Bernal, especially Luna and Bernal together, the film will be a quick, harmless, caffeinated booster shot until their next collaboration.”

Also: “Earth,” “Sin Nombre” and “State of Play.” TV to DVD: “Californication: Season 2,” “Here’s Lucy: Season 1,” “House: Season 5,” “Lie to Me: Season 1,” “NCIS: The Complete 6th Season,” “One Tree Hill: The Complete 6th Season,” “Samantha Who?: The Complete Second Season,” “Scrubs: The Complete Eighth Season,” “Smallville: The Complete Eighth Season,” “The Suite Life on Deck: Anchors Away!” and “The Untouchables: Season 3” and “Wiseguy: The Complete First Season.”
