Scrappers postponed due to unplayable field

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — Saturday’s game between the Mahoning Valley Scrappers and the Jamestown Jammers was postponed due to unplayable field conditions.

The game will be made up as a doubleheader today. Game one will start at 4:30 p.m. Both games will be 7 innings.

The Scrappers (44-23) have a 71‚Ñ2-game lead in the Pinckney Division of the New York-Penn League and their magic number for clinching the title is two.

The regular season ends Sept. 6. If the Scrappers are one of four teams to make the playoffs, they would begin a three-game series Tuesday, Sept. 8 at the lower seed’s stadium. The next two games would be on Thursday and Friday (if necessary) at the higher seed. The championship series would then begin on Sunday, Sept. 13 at the lower seed, followed by games on Tuesday and Wednesday at the higher seed. However, if both opening round series only go two games, the championship series games would all be moved up one day.
