DOCTORS

Dr. Dana Marie Schiavone Goldberg has completed her residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Ohio State University.

She graduated from Boardman High School in 1996, where she was valedictorian and a member of the National Honor Society. Dr. Goldberg then attended the University of Notre Dame and graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology. While at Notre Dame, she was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society and the Alpha Epsilon Delta honor society.

Dr. Goldberg completed medical school at OSU’s College of Medicine and Public Health in 2004, where she volunteered at the Columbus Free Clinic and won an award from the American Medical School Association.

She then completed five years of surgical residency at the OSU Medical Center, where she was named surgical intern of the year in 2005 and was honored by the nurses at Nationwide Children’s Hospital for compassionate patient care this year.

She is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and has opened a private practice in general plastic and reconstructive surgery with a focus on breast reconstruction in West Palm Beach, Fla., where she lives with her husband, Ryan Goldberg.

She is the daughter of Daniel Schiavone of Boardman and the late Deborah Schiavone.

DOCTORATE

Minnie Thompson-Taylor, a Youngstown native, graduated with a doctorate in organization and management from the School of Business and Technology at Capella University, an online university based in Minneapolis.

Dr. Thompson-Taylor, known as Rosie, and her husband live in Liberty, and she is the daughter of the late Charlie and Minnie B. Thompson.

She is a graduate of The Rayen School and earned an associate degree in applied science, a bachelor of science in nursing and a master of science in education, all from Youngstown State University. She earned a bachelor of arts in religious studies from the International College of Bible Theology, located in Petersburg, Va.

Thompson-Taylor is a registered nurse and is employed by Kindred Healthcare Corporation as director of clinical operations. She also serves as staff pastor of pastoral care at Christian Revival and Discipleship Center, Hudson Avenue, Youngstown, under the senior pastorate of Rev. Kenneth W. Paramore.

She has two children and eight grandchildren.
